Loving Proof – Day 10

“O God, we meditate on Your unfailing love as we worship in Your temple. As Your name deserves, O God, You will be praised to the ends of the earth.  Your strong right hand is filled with victory.  Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice.  Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of Your justice.  Go, inspect the city of Jerusalem.  Walk around and count the many towers.  Take note of the fortified walls, and tour all the citadels that you may describe them to future generations.  For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and He will guide us until we die.” -Psalm 48:9-14

This portion of Scripture is a portrait of the love shared between God and His people.  The people of God meditate (think about, dwell on) His love for them as they worship.  They see his love in the mighty and holy city of Jerusalem, and they love and praise Him for all He has done.  The towers, fortified walls, and citadels of the holy city tell stories.  I liken it to a family album of today.  A recording of family history where all of the mighty deeds of the founding Father are retold, generation to generation.

Are the walls of your home filled with portraits of your earthly family?  Do they tell of your family history?  What of your heavenly family, and more specifically your Heavenly Father?  What do you have in your home that paints a portrait of that history – of the love shared between you and God?  Is your love for Him as visible as your love for your family?  Do you tell others of the great things God has done for you?

🙏💕
