Loving Proof – Day 27

“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us.  God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” -1 John 4:16

If you believe that God sent His only son to die for your sins, then you have some knowledge of God’s love for you, and to some extent have put your trust in that love. But, could you go further?  Could you have a deeper knowledge of God’s love for you?  Maybe a more intimate knowledge?  Could you trust in His love more than you do now?  I believe that no matter what the level of your relationship with God is, the answer to all of the above questions is, “Yes!”

God is limitless.  His Word is alive and active.  No matter how many times you read a portion of Scripture, the Holy Spirit can make it just as alive and fresh the hundredth time as it was the first time.  I believe our relationship with God is much the same.  No matter how deep we go with Him, we can always go deeper.  No matter how much we trust Him, we can always trust Him more.  We are being transformed into the image of Christ from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18 paraphrased).  Every “glory” takes us into deeper intimacy with our Heavenly Father until the day of perfection when our relationship with Him will be more amazing than we can even imagine.

Our Christian walk proceeds in levels – ever deeper and richer – levels of knowledge and awareness of our Lord and Savior and His love for us.  We also grow in our love for Him, which increases our capacity for love in general.  The more that love defines who we are, the more like Christ we become.  When you abide in Love (God), He abides in you.  How is your love life with God right now?

🙏💕
