“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘if anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him’.”

Loving Jesus = keeping His Word. “Keeping” in the original language of this verse (Greek) is the word tereo and it means: “to attend carefully, to observe, hold fast” (Strong’s Concordance of the Bible).
In order to hold fast to the Word of God, we have to know what it says. In order to know what it says, we have to read it and study it. When we spend time in God’s Word, we are spending time with Him. When we are careful to do what His Word says (observe it and hold fast to it), we are loving Him and abiding in Him. When we abide in Him, He abides in us by means of the Holy Spirit. It’s a wonderful cycle of loving and abiding.
How is your relationship with Jesus? Are you keeping His Word?
