Lead Us

Lead us, Father,
to the place we should go,
to the patch of garden
where we will grow.
Plant our roots deep
in the soil of Your choice.
Open our hearts
to hear Your voice.
In Your will
we desire to be,
Your plan for our lives
we long to see.
Hear our cry.
Heed our call.
In the pit of despair
let us not fall.
Light the way,
give us hope.
Lead us, Father,
to the place we should go.

Longing

The feeling inside that you are destined for greater things
Is there because you are.
The longing for something more
Is your soul longing for home.
The emptiness you can’t define
Is the God shaped hole in your heart.

Our souls are eternal
Created for perfection
Until sin crept in,
A deadly infection.

But In His image
We were created,
And Jesus came
So that justice was sated.

This world is not home.
Our destiny is perfection.
Relationship with Christ
Leads to completion.

We are destined for greater things.
Our souls long for home in a greater place.
We are children of God, our hearts well know
And our longing is fulfilled in our Savior’s face.

The Means to The End

The pain runs deep.
There seems no end.
The injustice is just unbearable.

They drove so far
their steely knife,
It feels as if lodged forever.

Innocence is yours.
Nothing have you done
to merit such a blow to your heart.

But remember, dear one
to whom you belong.
”Vengeance is Mine”, He saith.

His is to repay.
Yours is to forgive.
With God all things are possible.

Look to the Healer
to mend your heart.
Choose forgiveness over and over.

Never lose sight
of eternity.
It puts everything else in perspective.

The pain runs deep,
but there is an end
and the means are love and forgiveness.

A Small, Still Knowing

Dreams and visions I know not of.
I’ve heard no heavenly voice.
No flash of lightning nor thunder clap
Has led me to rejoice.

A small, still knowing deep inside
Is what leads me by and by.
It tells me “when” and “how” and “where”
And sometimes even “why”.

You don’t really hear it as much as feel it.
It’s knowing that you know.
There’s no confusion or nagging doubt.
In confidence you follow.

There may be fear or nervousness
From leaving your comfort zone,
But there’s really no choice for those who love Him
Once His will is known.

Dreams and visions I know not of.
I’ve heard no Heavenly voice.
Just a small, still knowing deep inside
That leads me to rejoice.

Letting Go

Let go of fear,
Have faith instead.
Let go of strife,
Be at peace and rest.
Let go of bitterness,
In joy be free.
Let go of anger,
Forgiveness is key.

Let go, let go
Of your struggle and strife.
There’s only one person
In control of your life.
But before He’ll steer,
And from trouble keep clear,
You must give Him the wheel.
It’s part of the deal.
He won’t take control
Until you give Him control.
He won’t take your burdens
Until you can let go.

So let go of fear,
Have faith instead.
Let go of strife,
Be at peace and rest.
Let go of bitterness,
In joy be free.
Let go of anger,
Forgiveness is key.

A Woman You Can Use

Lord, open up my mind, I pray.
Soften my heart more each day.
Give me a willingness to do my part.
Let not Your grace from me depart.
I long to know Your perfect will.
I give my life for You to fill.
Help me Lord, Your ways to choose.
And become a woman You can use.

Jesus Is The Answer

Who am I?  Why am I here?
These questions filled my heart with fear.
I knew not why, or when or how
And often asked myself, “What now?”
And then one day out of the blue
I was introduced to You.
You revealed yourself
In awesome ways.
You blessed my life and brightened my days.
Moment by moment
And day by day
You increased my wisdom
And taught me Your ways.
You spoke to me so I could hear.
You called my name and drew me near.
You shined Your light
On my dark life
And rescued me
From my plight.
Doubt and fear
Have no more hold
And in Your strength
I go forth bold.
I walk upright and in the light
I trust in You with all my might.
For Your love does enable me
Your sacrifice has set me free.
A child of God, that’s who I am.
His love to share is why I’m here.
And those questions – why, and when, and how?
Are answered in my Lord so dear.
Jesus is the why and how,
His plan the answer to, “What now?”
Thanks to Him, I’m forever free
And my soul will sing through eternity.
